Managed the entire scope of the project from initial discussions with possible vendors to providing a clear objective of what we are trying to accomplish to final execution across nine Best Buy Canada locations. Some responsibilities included creative direction, keeping a constant communication line between all parties involved, providing feedback during the prototype phase and ensuring the project stayed within the timeline and allocated budget.
2015 CES Trade Show
Designed all the graphics and was a major contributor to the theme of Acer's at CES. 2015 theme was 35 years of innovation so I came up with the idea to show the thought process of the innovations using actual sketches from the product design team.
2016 CES Trade Show
We wanted 2016 theme to be more whimsical and fun. We hired an agency that specializes in creating murals and graffiti artwork for various headquarters. My involvement was providing feedback and direction from the initial concepts to the final execution along with providing supportive graphics and assets.
Various in-store displays ranging from end caps, counter top displays and pallet displays.
Costco Counter Display
The process of creating a display starts out with a meeting with the retailer discussing shelf space, timing and other logistics. In this example, Costco wanted to show a 2-in-1 laptop with the keyboard separated and secured to the display and the tablet tethered, so it can be picked up. I then meet with my vendor and go over ideas, materials, costs, exectuion and timing. An accurate, scaled rendering is created which I then overlay graphics to give an idea of what the final product will look like.
Costco Pallet Display
Designed a gaming pallet and take cards from concept to final execution. Also managed the production schedule, costs and shipping shipping logistics. The pallet is currently in all 500 Costco locations.
End Cap Refresh
For the refresh, I wanted the end cap to draw more attention by creating depth, lighting and material choices. I created depth by having the speech bubble stand off from the back panel with subtle lighting. I also used lighting on the logo as well as the trim of the counter top. Lastly, I curved the top and added a green acrylic strip to give the end cap a finishing touch.
Gaming End Cap
The design of the end cap was to emulate the design of the notebook using hard edges, dimension and lighting to also set the end cap apart to attract gamers. The Predator logo is illuminated with a red acrylic accent below to bring attention to the brand as well as provide various depth. The counter top follows the contours of the notebook and has red LED lighting along the edges to finish off the premium look and feel.
Gaming End Cap
Another variation of the gaming end cap, but was designed for a curved monitor, desktop and accessories below the keyboard. The same elements were used from the previous end cap to maintain brand consistency.
